Hollywood gossip website TMZ.com is reporting that actress Brittany Murphy has died at the age of 32.
Multiple sources have told the website that Murphy went into cardiac arrest and could not be revived. TMZ reports that the Los Angeles City Fire Department confirms a 911 call was made at 8 a.m. Sunday morning from the home listed as belonging to Murphy's husband, Simon Monjack. Murphy's mother had found her unconscious in the shower, according to TMZ.
The Los Angeles Times cites law enforcement sources as confirming that Murphy was transported to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center this morning, where she was pronounced dead.
The Associated Press reports that messages left for Murphy's manager, agent and publicist weren't immediately returned Sunday afternoon.
However Los Angeles City Fire Department spokesman Devon Gale confirmed to The Associated Press that authorities did respond to a call from Monjack's home this morning. Gale says one person was transported to a hospital.
Murphy was best-known for her breakthrough role in 1995's Clueless . She went on to star in films including 8 Mile , Little Black Book , Sin City and Just Married . She co-starred in the latter with former boyfriend Ashton Kutcher.
